Top 5 albums – November 2013
I have music playing pretty much all day in my headphones, and I’m constantly digging around for new stuff either on Rdio or Bandcamp. Most of the music is electronic on the chillout side, so it’s perfect to have on in the background while I’m working away.
If you want a more extensive list, check out my Chillin’ like a Villian playlist on Rdio for my favorites.
Here are the top 5 albums I’ve been listening to in October 2013.
Kiln – meadow:watt
More Kiln! Just like their previous albums, they continue to utilize ambient textures with all sorts of strange percussion. This feels like it should be in a video game.
Nitemoves – Themes
Nitemoves is brought to you by the drummer in Tycho, so you kind of automatically know it’s going to be good. Although the two share similar characteristics, they sound completely different but somehow manage to pair pretty well.
Maribou State – Scarlett Groove
The production really stands out on this album for me – it’s intricate and really well put together.
Fastfall – Lifeformed
This is the OST for an indie game called Dustforce. It’s a great mix of modern IDM and 16 bit sounds that’s bringing back some SNES memories.
Starcadian – Sunset Blood
If the 1980s, Daft Punk and spaceships had a lovechild, it would sound like Starcadian.
